Dosec designed, installed and commissioned a weather station for the purpose of monitoring conditions at an experimental solar farm.
A Sydney based organisation required a system to monitor weather conditions on their rooftop solar farm. Rapid and continuous measurement of weather parameters was required in order to correlate the data with fluctuating solar panel power output. Dosec installed and commissioned a weather station which collects wind speed, wind direction, temperature, barometric pressure and humidity, forwarding it to the building management system.
The building management system’s interface was ModBus over TCP/IP. The weather station was equipped with Dosec’s 2.4GHz wireless communications system. A wireless to Ethernet converter was developed to feed data to the building’s servers. Since it’s installation and commissioning, several years ago, the system has been providing weather station data every 3 seconds, 24 hours a day.
